NIU Falls 30-27 to Broncos - Recap
Western Michigan won 30-27 on Saturday against NIU behind a 134-yard receiving performance from D'Wayne Eskridge at Waldo Stadium.
Western Michigan did not, however, defeat the Huskies against the spread, which closed at -18.5 at most sportsbooks. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 64.5.
La'Darius Jefferson rushed for 81 yards, while D'Wayne Eskridge added 27 yards in the win. D'Wayne Eskridge and Skyy Moore added 134 and 76 receiving yards respectively.
Harrison Waylee rushed for 68 yards for NIU, while Erin Collins added 40 yards. Ross Bowers threw for 230 yards for the Huskies, while receivers Tyrice Richie and Dennis Robinson had 131 and 36 yards respectively.
Western Michigan was outgained by NIU 350-325 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 18-15 by the Huskies.
NIU led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 40:00-20:00 split in that important category.
Western Michigan heads into a Week 14 battle against Eastern Michigan. NIU, meanwhile, will have their next action against Toledo.
