Louisiana-Monroe Falls 31-13 to Mountaineers - Recap

Zac Thomas ran for 109 yards as Appalachian State handled Louisiana-Monroe by a score of 31-13 on Saturday at JPS Field at James L. Malone Stadium.

The Mountaineers won the battle on the scoreboard, but not at the payout window as they failed to cover the -29.0-point spread. UNDER bettors were rewarded when the final score pointed to an UNDER play.

Zac Thomas rushed for 109 yards, while Marcus Williams Jr. added 103 yards in the win. Malik Williams and Christian Wells added 60 and 37 receiving yards respectively.

Isaiah Phillips rushed for 41 yards for Louisiana-Monroe, while Josh Johnson added 22 yards. Colby Suits threw for 134 yards for the Warhawks, while receivers Josh Pederson and Malik Jackson had 32 and 31 yards respectively.

Louisiana-Monroe lost the offensive yardage battle to Appalachian State 480-222 yards in Saturday's game. Appalachian State had more first downs as that total ended up 26-16.

Appalachian State led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 34:47-25:13 split in that important category.

Next game, Appalachian State takes its act on the road to face Texas State looking for another win. For Louisiana-Monroe, they head on the road to face Georgia State.
