Orange Fall 36-29 Against NC State - Game Recap
Bailey Hockman sliced and diced the Orange defense for 313 yards as NC State handed Syracuse a 36-29 defeat on Saturday at Carrier Dome.
Bettors who backed the Wolfpack were disappointed, as they failed to cover the closing number of -17.5. Over-Under bettors saw the total score go OVER the closing total of 50.0.
Bailey Hockman completed 23 of 31 pass attempts for 313 yards for the Wolfpack in the win.
Sean Tucker rushed for 18 yards for Syracuse, while Cooper Lutz added 2 yards. Rex Culpepper threw for 254 yards for the Orange, while receivers Taj Harris and Nykeim Johnson had 146 and 60 yards respectively.
NC State outgained Syracuse 408-257 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 27-16 by the Wolfpack.
Syracuse lost the time of possession battle 34:03-25:57, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Next game, NC State takes its act home to face Georgia Tech looking for another win. For Syracuse, they head on the road to face Notre Dame.
