Mustangs vs Bulldogs Final: 39-37 - Recap
Tanner Mordecai sliced and diced the Bulldogs defense for 395 yards as SMU handed LA Tech a 39-37 defeat on Saturday at Joe Aillet Stadium.
SMU won on the scoreboard, but lost at the pay window as they failed to cover the -11.0-point spread. The game went OVER the consensus closing total of 66.0.
Tanner Mordecai completed 36 of 48 pass attempts for 395 yards for the Mustangs in the win.
Marcus Williams Jr. rushed for 65 yards for LA Tech, while Greg Garner added 42 yards. Austin Kendall threw for 351 yards for the Bulldogs, while receivers Tre Harris and Samuel Emilus had 102 and 57 yards respectively.
SMU outgained LA Tech 578-483 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 31-26 by the Mustangs.
SMU led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 32:37-26:59 split in that important category.
Next game, SMU takes its act on the road to face TCU looking for another win. For LA Tech, they head home to face North Texas.
