Old Dominion Falls 28-21 to Miners - Recap
Jacob Cowing inflicted damage on the Old Dominion secondary, receiving 118 yards as UTEP defeated the Monarchs 28-21 at Sun Bowl.
The Miners were a -5.5-point favorite in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score went OVER the total, which closed at 48.5.
Deion Hankins rushed for 70 yards, while Calvin Brownholtz added 28 yards in the win. Jacob Cowing and Justin Garrett added 118 and 46 receiving yards respectively.
Blake Watson rushed for 35 yards for Old Dominion, while Elijah Davis added 24 yards. D.J. Mack Jr. threw for 194 yards for the Monarchs, while receivers Zack Kuntz and Ali Jennings III had 54 and 44 yards respectively.
UTEP outgained Old Dominion 333-282 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 19-17 by the Monarchs.
UTEP led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 34:28-25:32 split in that important category.
UTEP heads into a Week 6 battle against Southern Miss. Old Dominion, meanwhile, will have their next action against Marshall.
