Trojans vs Bobcats Final: 31-28 - Recap
The Bobcats had no answer for Kimani Vidal on Saturday as the Trojans rolled to a 31-28 win at Jim Wacker Field at Bobcat Stadium.
Troy won on the scoreboard, but lost at the pay window as they failed to cover the -7.5-point spread. The game went OVER the consensus closing total of 49.0.
Kimani Vidal rushed for 162 yards, while B.J. Smith added 56 yards in the win. Tez Johnson and Deyunkrea Lewis added 81 and 30 receiving yards respectively.
Brock Sturges rushed for 49 yards for Texas State, while Calvin Hill added 30 yards. Brady McBride threw for 279 yards for the Bobcats, while receivers Javen Banks and Trevis Graham Jr. had 96 and 47 yards respectively.
Texas State lost the offensive yardage battle to Troy 387-370 yards in Saturday's game. Troy had more first downs as that total ended up 23-21.
Troy led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 30:01-28:50 split in that important category.
Troy looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against Coastal Carolina. Texas State will aim to get back on the winning track at Georgia State.
