UTEP Defeats LA Tech 19-3 - Recap
UTEP won 19-3 on Saturday against LA Tech behind a 166-yard receiving performance from Jacob Cowing at Sun Bowl.
UTEP was an underdog by +6.5 points and came through with an ATS victory for bettors. The game went UNDER the consensus closing total of 55.5.
Deion Hankins rushed for 55 yards, while Ronald Awatt added 24 yards in the win. Jacob Cowing and Reynaldo Flores added 166 and 48 receiving yards respectively.
Marcus Williams Jr. rushed for 42 yards for LA Tech, while Greg Garner added 26 yards. Austin Kendall threw for 164 yards for the Bulldogs, while receivers Marcus Williams Jr. and Smoke Harris had 59 and 40 yards respectively.
UTEP outgained LA Tech 385-278 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 18-14 by the Miners.
LA Tech lost the time of possession battle 36:43-23:17, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Next game, UTEP takes its act on the road to face Florida Atlantic looking for another win. For LA Tech, they head home to face UTSA.
