SMU Falls 44-37 to Cougars - Recap

Clayton Tune's 412-yard performance through the air was the key in Houston's 44-37 win over SMU on Saturday at TDECU Stadium.

The Cougars were a +1.0-point underdog in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score went OVER the total, which closed at 62.0.

Clayton Tune completed 27 of 37 pass attempts for 412 yards for the Cougars in the win.

Tre Siggers rushed for 44 yards for SMU, while Ulysses Bentley IV added 15 yards. Tanner Mordecai threw for 305 yards for the Mustangs, while receivers Danny Gray and Reggie Roberson Jr. had 73 and 58 yards respectively.

SMU was outgained by Houston 489-355 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 23-18 by the Cougars.

The time of possession battle favored Houston as their offense was on the field for 35:23, longer than the 24:37 of their opponents.

Houston looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against USF. SMU will aim to get back on the winning track at Memphis.
