Vanderbilt Commodores vs NIU Huskies Recap - Commodores Win 38-28

The Huskies had no answer for Ray Davis on Saturday as the Commodores rolled to a 38-28 win at Brigham Field at Huskie Stadium.

Vanderbilt was the ATS victor, as they covered the +2.0-point spread as an underdog. Over-Under bettors who played OVER the total of 58.5 were rewarded at the payout window.

Ray Davis rushed for 116 yards, while Chase Gillespie added 48 yards in the win. Will Sheppard and Jayden McGowan added 171 and 43 receiving yards respectively.

Antario Brown rushed for 60 yards for NIU, while Harrison Waylee added 52 yards. Ethan Hampton threw for 124 yards for the Huskies, while receivers Cole Tucker and Fabian McCray had 88 and 46 yards respectively.

NIU lost the offensive yardage battle to Vanderbilt 428-354 yards in Saturday's game. Vanderbilt had more first downs as that total ended up 21-17.

The time of possession battle favored Vanderbilt as their offense was on the field for 30:44, longer than the 29:16 of their opponents.

Vanderbilt looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against Alabama. NIU will aim to get back on the winning track at Kentucky.
