Cornhuskers Fall 31-28 Against Northwestern - Game Recap

Ryan Hilinski's 314-yard performance through the air was the key in Northwestern's 31-28 win over Nebraska on Saturday at Aviva Stadium.

Northwestern won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the +12.0-point spread as underdogs. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 52.5.

Ryan Hilinski completed 27 of 38 pass attempts for 314 yards for the Wildcats in the win.

Anthony Grant rushed for 101 yards for Nebraska, while Trey Palmer added 8 yards. Casey Thompson threw for 355 yards for the Cornhuskers, while receivers Isaiah Garcia-Castaneda and Trey Palmer had 120 and 68 yards respectively.

Nebraska lost the offensive yardage battle to Northwestern 528-465 yards in Saturday's game. Northwestern had more first downs as that total ended up 25-23.

Nebraska lost the time of possession battle 34:12-25:48, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.

Next game, Northwestern takes its act home to face Duke looking for another win. For Nebraska, they head home to face North Dakota.
