The Scarlet Knights grabbed a Week 3 victory over the Owls on Saturday, winning 16-14 at Lincoln Financial Field.
The Scarlet Knights won the battle on the scoreboard, but not at the payout window as they failed to cover the -18.0-point spread. UNDER bettors were rewarded when the final score pointed to an UNDER play.
Johnny Langan rushed for 79 yards, while Samuel Brown V added 30 yards in the win. Shameen Jones and Aron Cruickshank added 18 and 18 receiving yards respectively.
Edward Saydee rushed for 27 yards for Temple, while Trey Blair added 25 yards. E.J. Warner threw for 215 yards for the Owls, while receivers Adonicas Sanders and Jordan Smith had 90 and 79 yards respectively.
Rutgers was outgained by Temple 264-201 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 13-12 by the Owls.
Rutgers led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 31:48-28:12 split in that important category.
Next game, Rutgers takes its act home to face Iowa looking for another win. For Temple, they head home to face Massachusetts.
