Recap - Fighting Illini Defeat Nebraska 26-9

Chase Brown scampered through the Nebraska defense for 149 yards as Illinois handed the Cornhuskers a 26-9 defeat on Saturday at Tom Osborne Field at Memorial Stadium.

Illinois won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the -7.5-point spread as favorites. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 51.0.

Chase Brown rushed for 149 yards, while Tommy DeVito added 37 yards in the win. Isaiah Williams and Tip Reiman added 93 and 39 receiving yards respectively.

Anthony Grant rushed for 61 yards for Nebraska, while Casey Thompson added 10 yards. Casey Thompson threw for 172 yards for the Cornhuskers, while receivers Travis Vokolek and Alante Brown had 56 and 47 yards respectively.

Nebraska lost the offensive yardage battle to Illinois 367-248 yards in Saturday's game. Illinois had more first downs as that total ended up 18-9.

Illinois led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 38:13-21:47 split in that important category.

Illinois looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against Michigan State. Nebraska will aim to get back on the winning track vs. Minnesota.
