NIU Falls 38-35 to Golden Hurricane - Recap
Davis Brin threw for 322 yards to lead the Golden Hurricane over NIU 38-35 on Saturday in Week 2 action at Skelly Field at H.A. Chapman Stadium.
Tulsa did not, however, defeat the Huskies against the spread, which closed at -6.5 at most sportsbooks. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 63.0.
Davis Brin completed 19 of 32 pass attempts for 322 yards for the Golden Hurricane in the win.
Antario Brown rushed for 73 yards for NIU, while Mason Blakemore added 30 yards. Rocky Lombardi threw for 259 yards for the Huskies, while receivers Cole Tucker and Kacper Rutkiewicz had 123 and 45 yards respectively.
NIU lost the offensive yardage battle to Tulsa 429-385 yards in Saturday's game. Tulsa had more first downs as that total ended up 23-19.
The time of possession battle favored NIU as their offense was on the field for 32:00, longer than the 28:00 of their opponents.
Tulsa heads into a Week 3 battle against Jacksonville State. NIU, meanwhile, will have their next action against Vanderbilt.
