Coastal Carolina Chanticleers vs Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks Wrap - Coastal Carolina Wins 28-21
CJ Beasley tore up the turf for 115 rushing yards on Saturday to lead the Chanticleers to a 28-21 win over the Warhawks at JPS Field at James L. Malone Stadium.
Coastal Carolina won on the scoreboard, but lost at the pay window as they failed to cover the -13.0-point spread. The game went UNDER the consensus closing total of 57.5.
CJ Beasley rushed for 115 yards, while Grayson McCall added 41 yards in the win. Sam Pinckney and Jared Brown added 133 and 83 receiving yards respectively.
Malik Jackson rushed for 52 yards for Louisiana-Monroe, while Andrew Henry added 41 yards. Chandler Rogers threw for 279 yards for the Warhawks, while receivers Tyrone Howell and Alred Luke had 77 and 55 yards respectively.
Louisiana-Monroe lost the offensive yardage battle to Coastal Carolina 433-424 yards in Saturday's game. Louisiana-Monroe had more first downs as that total ended up 24-20.
Coastal Carolina lost the time of possession battle 32:46-27:14, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Next game, Coastal Carolina takes its act home to face Old Dominion looking for another win. For Louisiana-Monroe, they head on the road to face South Alabama.
