Bobcats Fall 17-14 Against Troy - Game Recap
The Trojans were Week 7 winners on Saturday, coming out on top of the Bobcats by a score of 17-14 at Larry Blakeney Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
Troy won on the scoreboard, but lost at the pay window as they failed to cover the -16.5-point spread. The game went UNDER the consensus closing total of 46.5.
DK Billingsley rushed for 70 yards, while Kimani Vidal added 54 yards in the win. Tez Johnson and Devonte Ross added 94 and 91 receiving yards respectively.
Lincoln Pare rushed for 67 yards for Texas State, while Calvin Hill added 22 yards. Layne Hatcher threw for 207 yards for the Bobcats, while receivers Lincoln Pare and Ashtyn Hawkins had 71 and 42 yards respectively.
Texas State lost the offensive yardage battle to Troy 406-293 yards in Saturday's game. Troy had more first downs as that total ended up 17-13.
Troy lost the time of possession battle 30:26-29:34, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Troy heads into a Week 8 battle against South Alabama. Texas State, meanwhile, will have their next action against Southern Miss.
