Coastal Carolina Falls 27-13 to Bruins - Recap
J.Michael Sturdivant caught 5 passes for 136 yards against the Coastal Carolina defense as UCLA handed the Chanticleers a 27-13 loss on Saturday at Rose Bowl.
The Bruins won the battle on the scoreboard, but not at the payout window as they failed to cover the -15.5-point spread. UNDER bettors were rewarded when the final score pointed to an UNDER play.
T.J. Harden rushed for 76 yards, while Carson Steele added 76 yards in the win. J.Michael Sturdivant and Kyle Ford added 136 and 39 receiving yards respectively.
Reese White rushed for 21 yards for Coastal Carolina, while Jared Brown added 15 yards. Grayson McCall threw for 271 yards for the Chanticleers, while receivers Sam Pinckney and Jared Brown had 139 and 31 yards respectively.
Coastal Carolina lost the offensive yardage battle to UCLA 417-345 yards in Saturday's game. Coastal Carolina had more first downs as that total ended up 21-20.
UCLA lost the time of possession battle 34:50-25:10, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
UCLA heads into a Week 2 battle against San Diego State. Coastal Carolina, meanwhile, will have their next action against Jacksonville State.
