Missouri Defeats Middle Tennessee 23-19 - Recap

Luther Burden III caught 8 passes for 117 yards against the Middle Tennessee defense as Missouri handed the Blue Raiders a 23-19 loss on Saturday at Memorial Stadium at Faurot Field.

Missouri did not, however, defeat the Blue Raiders against the spread, which closed at -21.0 at most sportsbooks. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 47.5.

Cody Schrader rushed for 84 yards, while Nathaniel Peat added 51 yards in the win. Luther Burden III and Nathaniel Peat added 117 and 49 receiving yards respectively.

Frank Peasant rushed for 35 yards for Middle Tennessee, while Nicholas Vattiato added 34 yards. Nicholas Vattiato threw for 214 yards for the Blue Raiders, while receivers Elijah Metcalf and Justin Olson had 70 and 51 yards respectively.

Missouri outgained Middle Tennessee 316-285 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 21-16 by the Tigers.

Middle Tennessee lost the time of possession battle 32:00-28:00, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.

Missouri heads into a Week 3 battle against Kansas State. Middle Tennessee, meanwhile, will have their next action against Murray State.
