UTEP Falls 38-7 to Wildcats - Recap

The battle between the Wildcats and Miners didn't turn out to be much of a battle at all as UTEP was handed a 38-7 defeat on Saturday at Ryan Field.

The Wildcats were a -1.0-point favorite in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score went OVER the total, which closed at 40.5.

Cam Porter rushed for 90 yards, while Jack Lausch added 53 yards in the win. Joseph Himon II and Cam Johnson added 85 and 51 receiving yards respectively.

Torrance Burgess Jr. rushed for 34 yards for UTEP, while Deion Hankins added 27 yards. Gavin Hardison threw for 192 yards for the Miners, while receivers Jeremiah Ballard and Kelly Akharaiyi had 92 and 53 yards respectively.

UTEP was outgained by Northwestern 391-319 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 18-17 by the Miners.

UTEP led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 31:21-28:39 split in that important category.

Next game, Northwestern takes its act on the road to face Duke looking for another win. For UTEP, they head on the road to face Arizona.
