Nebraska Defeats NIU 35-11 - Recap

The battle between the Cornhuskers and Huskies didn't turn out to be much of a battle at all as NIU was handed a 35-11 defeat on Saturday at Tom Osborne Field at Memorial Stadium.

Nebraska won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the -11.5-point spread as favorites. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 42.5.

Heinrich Haarberg rushed for 98 yards, while Gabe Ervin Jr. added 67 yards in the win. Thomas Fidone II and Marcus Washington added 42 and 37 receiving yards respectively.

Antario Brown rushed for 16 yards for NIU, while Gavin Williams added 14 yards. Ethan Hampton threw for 50 yards for the Huskies, while receivers Davis Patterson and Dane Pardridge had 30 and 18 yards respectively.

NIU was outgained by Nebraska 382-149 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 23-12 by the Cornhuskers.

NIU lost the time of possession battle 36:17-23:43, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.

Nebraska looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against LA Tech. NIU will aim to get back on the winning track vs. Tulsa.
