Wolfpack Down Virginia 24-21 - Match Report
Virginia was unable to slow down Kevin Concepcion, who produced 116 receiving yards as the Wolfpack defeated the Cavaliers 24-21 on Friday.
NC State did not, however, defeat the Cavaliers against the spread, which closed at -8.0 at most sportsbooks. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 46.5.
Brennan Armstrong rushed for 64 yards, while Michael Allen added 36 yards in the win. Kevin Concepcion and Bradley Rozner added 116 and 22 receiving yards respectively.
Anthony Colandrea rushed for 43 yards for Virginia, while Kobe Pace added 38 yards. Anthony Colandrea threw for 271 yards for the Cavaliers, while receivers Malik Washington and Malachi Fields had 170 and 60 yards respectively.
NC State was outgained by Virginia 384-319 yards in Friday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 21-20 by the Wolfpack.
NC State lost the time of possession battle 32:34-27:26, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Next game, NC State takes its act home to face Louisville looking for another win. For Virginia, they head on the road to face Boston College.
