Trojans vs Hilltoppers Final: 27-24 - Recap
Gunnar Watson threw for 349 yards to lead the Trojans over WKU 27-24 on Saturday in Week 4 action at Larry Blakeney Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
The Trojans earned a straight-up victory but suffered an ATS defeat in failing to cover the -3.5-point spread. Over-Under bettors who played UNDER the total of 58.0 were rewarded with a winning wager.
Gunnar Watson completed 22 of 35 pass attempts for 349 yards for the Trojans in the win.
Elijah Young rushed for 10 yards for WKU, while K.D. Hutchinson added 10 yards. Austin Reed threw for 268 yards for the Hilltoppers, while receivers Malachi Corley and Easton Messer had 112 and 96 yards respectively.
WKU lost the offensive yardage battle to Troy 521-288 yards in Saturday's game. Troy had more first downs as that total ended up 24-16.
The time of possession battle favored Troy as their offense was on the field for 38:59, longer than the 21:01 of their opponents.
Next game, Troy takes its act on the road to face Georgia State looking for another win. For WKU, they head home to face Middle Tennessee.
