Recap - Mountaineers Defeat Louisiana-Monroe 41-40
Joey Aguilar was good for 335 yards through the air on Saturday as the Mountaineers got past the Warhawks by a score of 41-40 at JPS Field at James L. Malone Stadium.
Appalachian State did not, however, defeat the Warhawks against the spread, which closed at -13.5 at most sportsbooks. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 50.5.

Jiya Wright rushed for 74 yards for Louisiana-Monroe, while Isaiah Woullard added 62 yards. Jiya Wright threw for 268 yards for the Warhawks, while receivers Dariyan Wiley and Bugs Mortimer had 80 and 65 yards respectively.
Louisiana-Monroe was outgained by Appalachian State 536-471 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 28-22 by the Mountaineers.
Louisiana-Monroe lost the time of possession battle 30:04-29:04, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Next game, Appalachian State takes its act home to face Coastal Carolina looking for another win. For Louisiana-Monroe, they head home to face South Alabama.
