Miners Fall 28-7 Against New Mexico State - Game Recap

UTEP was unable to contain Monte Watkins on Wednesday and the result was a 28-7 Week 8 loss against the Aggies.

Monte Watkins rushed for 109 yards, while Diego Pavia added 96 yards in the win. Eli Stowers and Chris Bellamy added 80 and 48 receiving yards respectively.

Deion Hankins rushed for 120 yards for UTEP, while Torrance Burgess Jr. added 25 yards. Cade McConnell threw for 179 yards for the Miners, while receivers Jeremiah Ballard and Torrance Burgess Jr. had 75 and 62 yards respectively.

UTEP lost the offensive yardage battle to New Mexico State 439-304 yards in Wednesday's game. New Mexico State had more first downs as that total ended up 23-16.

The time of possession battle favored New Mexico State as their offense was on the field for 30:17, longer than the 29:43 of their opponents.

Next game, New Mexico State takes its act on the road to face LA Tech looking for another win. For UTEP, they head on the road to face Sam Houston State.
