Miners Fall 34-30 Against Middle Tennessee - Game Recap

Middle Tennessee won 34-30 on Saturday against UTEP behind a 105-yard receiving performance from Holden Willis at Johnny (Red) Floyd Stadium.

The Blue Raiders earned a straight-up victory but suffered an ATS defeat in failing to cover the -9.0-point spread. Over-Under bettors who played OVER the total of 48.0 were rewarded with a winning wager.

Nicholas Vattiato rushed for 92 yards, while Frank Peasant added 40 yards in the win. Holden Willis and Zack Dobson added 105 and 66 receiving yards respectively.

Deion Hankins rushed for 48 yards for UTEP, while Ezell Jolly added 30 yards. Cade McConnell threw for 364 yards for the Miners, while receivers Kelly Akharaiyi and Jeremiah Ballard had 138 and 87 yards respectively.

Middle Tennessee lost the offensive yardage battle to UTEP 453-427 yards in Saturday's game. UTEP had more first downs as that total ended up 20-19.

Middle Tennessee lost the time of possession battle 31:53-28:07, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.

Next game, Middle Tennessee takes its act on the road to face Sam Houston State looking for another win. For UTEP, they head home to face Liberty.
