Louisiana-Lafayette Falls 34-31 to Gamecocks - Recap
Ron Wiggins scampered through the Louisiana-Lafayette defense for 126 yards as Jacksonville State handed the Ragin' Cajuns a 34-31 defeat on Saturday at Caesars Superdome.
Jacksonville State did not, however, defeat the Ragin' Cajuns against the spread, which closed at -3.5 at most sportsbooks. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 58.5.
Ron Wiggins rushed for 126 yards, while Zion Webb added 70 yards in the win. Quinton Lane and Perry Carter added 86 and 69 receiving yards respectively.
Dre'lyn Washington rushed for 73 yards for Louisiana-Lafayette, while Elijah Davis added 29 yards. Chandler Fields threw for 155 yards for the Ragin' Cajuns, while receivers Pearse Migl and Robert Williams had 34 and 34 yards respectively.
Louisiana-Lafayette was outgained by Jacksonville State 526-247 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 31-14 by the Gamecocks.
The time of possession battle favored Jacksonville State as their offense was on the field for 33:00, longer than the 27:00 of their opponents.
