Lions Fall 31-3 Against New England - Game Recap

The battle between the Patriots and Lions didn't turn out to be much of a battle at all as Detroit was handed a 31-3 defeat on Thursday at Ford Field.

New England won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the +2.5-point spread as underdogs. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 35.0.

Nick Brossette rushed for 66 yards, while Brandon Bolden added 41 yards in the win. Jakobi Meyers and Braxton Berrios added 69 and 45 receiving yards respectively.

Ty Johnson rushed for 22 yards for Detroit, while Mark Thompson added 21 yards. David Fales threw for 62 yards for the Lions, while receivers Tom Kennedy and Brandon Powell had 29 and 27 yards respectively.

Detroit was outgained by New England 459-93 yards in Thursday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 26-8 by the Patriots.

Detroit lost the time of possession battle 38:46-21:14, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.

New England looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Titans. The Lions will aim to get back on the winning track at Houston.
