Panthers Fall 26-17 Against Detroit - Game Recap

The Panthers came up short against the Lions in Pre-Season Week 3 action on Friday, falling 26-17 at Bank of America Stadium.

Bettors who backed the Lions were also rewarded, as they covered the closing number as an underdog of +5.0 at sportsbooks. Over-Under bettors saw the total score go OVER the closing total of 36.5.

Craig Reynolds rushed for 41 yards, while Benny Snell Jr. added 26 yards in the win. Antoine Green and Dylan Drummond added 97 and 46 receiving yards respectively.

Spencer Brown rushed for 51 yards for Carolina, while Matt Corral added 27 yards. Bryce Young threw for 73 yards for the Panthers, while receivers Gary Jennings and Giovanni Ricci had 52 and 50 yards respectively.

Carolina outgained Detroit 341-315 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 22-15 by the Panthers.

Detroit lost the time of possession battle 30:56-29:04, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.

Next game, Detroit takes its act on the road to face Kansas City looking for another win. For Carolina, they head on the road to face Atlanta.
