Ottawa Falls 5-2 to Red Wings - Recap

Joe Veleno scored a pair of goals against the Senators as Detroit handed Ottawa a 5-2 defeat on Saturday at Canadian Tire Centre.

The Red Wings were a +138 underdog in the win. The combined score went OVER the total, which closed at 6.5.

Joe Veleno(2), Dylan Larkin, David Perron, and Shayne Gostisbehere each scored for the Red Wings in the victory. Gostisbehere opened the scoring for Detroit.

Ville Husso stopped 36 of 38 Ottawa shots in the victory.

Ridly Greig, and Jake Sanderson scored for the Senators, finding the net behind Ville Husso.

Joonas Korpisalo stopped 18 of 23 shots for the Senators, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.

On the power play, Detroit went 3-for-5, while the Senators were 1-for-6 with the man advantage.

Detroit lost the shots on goal battle to Ottawa by a margin of 38-23.

Next game, Detroit takes its act home to face Calgary looking for another win. For Ottawa, they head home to face Buffalo.
